If you would like your sample type to be included in our online (automatically loaded) permeability calibration, for your own benefit and for the benefit of other users, then please send us your the results, without compromising any of your trade secrets or research advances, and we will add them to the database for the benefit of other users. The information we require is illustrated in the following spreadsheet, which contains entirely invented numbers. The more information you give us, without compromising any confidential information, then the better the estimate will be for your other samples.
Then, once we have updated the calibration file, and when you start PoreXpert it has reported to you that an updated calibration file has been automatically loaded, then you can enter the exact sample details for your own samples, as an extended .csv datafile. An extract from an actual example of this extended format is shown below, and the datafile itself is supplied in your PoreXpert directory loaded when you installed the PoreXpert package.
If you load this sample (Sandstone sample 1) and model it (with at least a 20x20x20 unit cell), you will obtain our Holy Grail - an accurate estimate of it absolute permeability. The detail of how that estimate is calculated is described in the permeability validation section.
